East Nashville’s Grenetria Shell set three meet records at this week’s Class A-AA Sectional at Lipscomb Academy.

East Nashville senior Grenetria Shell set meet records in the long jump (17-11), 100-meter hurdles (14.35) and 300-meter hurdles (43.57) at this week’s TSSAA A-AA Middle Sectional at Lipscomb Academy, leading the reigning state runner-up Lady Eagles to a decisive first-place finish.

Shell, who also scored sectional wins in the 200-meter dash (24.80) and girls pentathlon (3,413 points), was one of five East Nashville girls to qualify next week’s Class A-AA State Track Championships at MTSU’s Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium, while the Lady Eagles’ 400-, 800- and 3,200-meter relay teams also punched their tickets to Murfreesboro.

In boys action, Christ Presbyterian Academy finished in first with 99 points to edge out second-place Stratford (83).

The top two finishers in each event automatically qualified for the state meet.
