East Nashville Magnet School re-started its football program in 2008.
For East Nashville Magnet High School, the days of trekking across town for home football games will soon come to an end.
East Nashville, which has played its home games at TPS Complex since restarting the program in 2008, has received $2.75 million of Mayor Megan Barry’s massive $475 million capital-spending plan in order to construct an on-campus football stadium.
“Words cannot describe how excited we are to have football coming back home to East Nashville,” Eagles coach Brian Waite said. “Big thanks to our alumni, Mayor Barry, our principal Mr. Steve Ball and our supporters in the East Nashville community that helped make this happen.
“The players are very excited about having a home-field advantage for a change.”
The stadium should be ready to open by fall of 2017.
