CHAPEL HILL White House High’s girls soccer team advanced to the District 9 A-AA Tournament championship match with a 10-0 victory over Middle Tennessee Christian School on Tuesday at Forrest High School.
Madisson Davis scored three goals to lead the Lady Devils (14-5), while Baylee Miller and Holly Matherly scored twice. Madeline Hargrove, Leanna Nesbitt and Sara McGregor also scored for White House, who advanced to Thursday’s championship match to face White House Heritage.
White House is seeking its seventh consecutive district championship, having won every season since 2010 and reached the final in every season since 2009.
Baylor 4, Pope John Paul II 0: Pope John Paul II High fell to 6-10 overall after suffering a 4-0 loss in the regular-season finale against visiting Baylor. The Lady Knights will next play in the Division II-Class AA state tournament and are waiting to learn their first-round opponent.
