HENDERSONVILLE Hendersonville Christian Academy’s volleyball team secured a berth in the Division II-Class A East/Middle Region Tournament for the first time since joining the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association in 2013.
The Lady Crusaders defeated visiting Donelson Christian Academy 25-15, 25-19, 25-21 on Monday evening in the first round of the District 1 Tournament to improve to 13-14 on the season.
April Wooley had a team-high seven kills and four aces, while Joy Courtright had three kills and four aces.
Top three seeds advance in District 9-AAA volleyball tournament
MT. JULIET Three of the top four seeds advanced in Monday’s District 9-AAA Volleyball Tournament at Mt. Juliet High School.
Top seeded Mt. Juliet and second-seeded Station Camp needed only three sets to move on to Tuesday’s semifinals, defeating eighth-seeded Gallatin and seventh-seeded Hendersonville, respectively.
Third-seeded Portland needed four sets to eliminate sixth-seeded Lebanon, while fifth-seeded Wilson Central jumped out to a two-set lead before holding off fourth-seeded Beech in a decisive fifth set to advance.
Tuesday’s semifinal winners advance to next Monday’s Region 5-AAA Tournament.
