HENDERSONVILLE Gallatin High’s girls soccer team remained undefeated in District 9-AAA after collecting a 1-0 victory in penalty kicks at Beech on Thursday evening.
The Lady Wave (9-2 overall, 3-0 in District 9-AAA) had goals from Veda Hooge, Ines Hernandez, Kirsten Conyer and Abby Deglopper during the penalty kick phase.
Kendra Mueller, McCall Decker and Sierra Robinson each scored for Beech (4-7, 1-3) after neither team scored in regulation or during 30 minutes of overtime.
White House 12, Greenbrier 0
Nine different White House players scored as the Lady Devils (9-4 overall, 4-0 in District 9 A-AA) routed visiting Greenbrier on Thursday evening.
Madisson Davis scored four goals for White House, while eight other players – Alyson Trimmer, Madeline Hargrove, Leanna Nesbitt, Mazie Burrow, Mallory Humphries, Lacey Cook, Eva Felts and Hannah Potts – also found the net for the Lady Devils.
Station Camp 7, Portland 0
Michaela Nicholson netted her fifth hat trick of the season as the visiting Lady Bison (14-1 overall, 4-0 in District 9-AAA) shut out Portland (3-8-1, 1-5).
Victoria Brown, Faith Brown, Megan Brinkley and Katie Lombardi also scored for Station Camp.
Pope John Paul II sends two to state golf tournament
Two Pope John Paul II High golfers advanced to the Division II-Class AA state golf tournament after the East-Middle Region tournament at The Bear Trace Tims Ford on Monday.
Jac Deaton’s 72 was among the top three golfers who were not on any of the top four finishing teams (Baylor, Brentwood Academy, McCallie, Montgomery Bell Academy).
Ali McCarthy qualified by shooting 90, posting one of the top three scores not among the top four teams (Ensworth, Harpeth Hall, Baylor, Girls Preparatory School).
Deaton and McCarthy will compete in the state tournament at WillowBrook Golf Club in Manchester beginning on Monday.
